Mayank Yadav: Bowling Speed, Stats & IPL 2026 Team

Mayank Yadav was born on June 17, 2002, in Punjabi Bagh, West Delhi, making Mayank Yadav age 23 years old (turning 24 in mid-2026). At this young Mayank Yadav age, he has already recorded the fastest delivery of IPL 2024 (156.7 km/h), won consecutive Player of the Match awards in his first two IPL games, and made his international T20I debut for India.

Mayank Yadav was born and raised in Punjabi Bagh, West Delhi, where he represents the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA) in domestic cricket. His ancestral roots belong to Ratho village, located in the Marauna block of Supaul district, Bihar (frequently misidentified in viral social media posts as Motihari). His father Prabhu Yadav relocated to West Delhi in the 1990s to establish a modest siren and emergency vehicle light manufacturing business.

Mayank Yadav does not have a biological cricketer brother. He has an elder sister named Hansika Yadav. The viral search interest around "mayank yadav brother" originated because close Delhi pace teammates and peers (such as Harshit Rana and Navdeep Saini) were colloquially dubbed "brothers in arms" in local news reports. Mayank was raised in West Delhi by his father Prabhu Yadav and mother Mamta Yadav, who supported his cricket training at Sonnet Cricket Club.

Mayank Yadav is currently unmarried and does not have a wife (mayank yadav wife). Mayank is single with no public relationship. Following his breakout IPL season and rehabilitation from back injuries at the BCCI Centre of Excellence, he remains completely dedicated to his express fast bowling and international cricket career.

Mayank Yadav stands 6 ft 1 in (185 cm) tall (mayank yadav height in feet is 6'1") and weighs approximately 76 kg (167 lbs). Mayank Yadav height provides an upright release point over 2.15 meters, allowing him to extract steep, uncomfortable bounce off a good length while maintaining an immaculate upright seam presentation.

Mayank Yadav highest bowling speed is 156.7 km/h (97.37 mph), bowled against Cameron Green of Royal Challengers Bengaluru at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 2, 2024. This thunderbolt was the official mayank yadav fastest ball and the single fastest delivery recorded in the entire IPL 2024 season, ranking 5th on the all-time IPL velocity leaderboard (behind Shaun Tait 157.71 km/h, Gerald Coetzee 157.4 km/h, Lockie Ferguson 157.3 km/h, and Umran Malik 157.0 km/h). In official Mayank Yadav bowling speed records, over 80% of his deliveries consistently clock in the 148 to 154 km/h corridor.

Ian Bishop famously praised Mayank Yadav during two celebrated broadcast and social media moments: During IPL 2024, legendary West Indies fast bowler Ian Bishop went viral on live television commentary exclaiming: "Child, you are flying! Real pace is here! You cannot buy this in a supermarket!" Later in April 2026, when Mayank made his competitive comeback after 353 days of spinal rehabilitation and faced criticism for conceding runs, Bishop passionately defended him on X (Twitter): "To see negative comments about Mayank Yadav today is horrifying. The kid nearly lost his career at 21yrs... The fact that he clocked 150kph again is a miracle. At 23yrs just pray for him that he stays fit. The control will come."

In mayank yadav debut match for Lucknow Super Giants vs Punjab Kings on March 30, 2024 at Ekana Stadium, Mayank produced an unforgettable spell of 4-0-27-3, dismissing Jonny Bairstow, Prabhsimran Singh, and Jitesh Sharma with deliveries up to 155.8 km/h to win Player of the Match. He then followed it with 3/14 against RCB, becoming the first player in IPL history to win Player of the Match in each of his first two matches. In his international T20I debut for India vs Bangladesh on October 6, 2024 at Gwalior, he bowled a maiden over in his first over and finished with 4-1-21-1.
